Joseph C. Gatto, Jr.
President and Chief Executive Officer
Joe Gatto is the Chief Executive Officer, President and Chief Financial Officer for the Company. Mr. Gatto joined the Company on April 2, 2012 as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance before being promoted into his current roles, and has had a long-standing relationship with the Company acting as an outside advisor on financing and strategic assignments. He has also served as a Managing Director with both Merrill Lynch & Co. and Barclays Capital. Mr. Gatto graduated with a B.S. from Cornell University and received his M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Gary A. Newberry
Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Gary A. Newberry is the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Company. He joined the Company on April 1, 2010. Prior to that time he held management positions over production and drilling operations in the Mid-continent, Rockies, Alaska and the Permian Basin including Worldwide Operations Manager for Marathon Oil. He retired from Marathon Oil Company after 33 years of service. Mr. Newberry graduated from Marietta College in 1977 with a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering.
Correne S. Loeffler
Interim Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
Correne Loeffler is the Interim Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for the Company. Ms. Loeffler joined the Company in April 2017 as the Treasurer. Prior to joining she served as an Executive Director with JPMorgan Securities, LLC where she spent ten years in the Corporate Client Banking Group. During her time at JPMorgan she served as Callon’s Relationship Manager beginning in 2013. Ms. Loeffler graduated with a B.A. degree from Indiana University and received her M.B.A. from The University of Texas.
Jerry A. Weant
Vice President, Land
Jerry A. Weant is the Vice President of Land for the Company. Prior to joining Callon in September 2013, Mr. Weant held the position of Sr. Staff Landman at Pioneer Natural Resources USA, Inc. and served as a land liaison in Pioneers corporate office for special projects involving water flood and horizontal drilling for Pioneer’s Permian operations. Mr. Weant also served as President of Trilogy Operating, Inc. prior to joining Pioneer. Mr. Weant received a BBA/PLM degree from the University of Texas in Austin in 1980 and has participated in the oil and gas business as a Landman since that time. Mr. Weant is an active member of the American Association of Professional Landman and Permian Basin Landman’s Association.
Mitzi P. Conn
Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer
Mitzi P. Conn is the Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer for the Company. Prior to being appointed to that position in May 2007, she had served as Assistant Controller. Mrs. Conn has held various other positions in finance and accounting since she joined the Company in June 1993. Prior thereto, she was with Graham Resources, Inc. She received her B.S. degree in accounting from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1990 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Bobby F. Weatherly
Bobby F. Weatherly currently serves in a consulting capacity as the Company’s Corporate Secretary. Mr. Weatherly joined the Company’s Board of Directors in 1994, and took a full time position in management as the Chief Financial Officer from 2006 to mid-2014 and as the Chief Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary from mid-2014 until his retirement as an employee of the Company in February 2015. Before joining Callon, he was a principal of CapSource Financial, Houston, Texas, an investment-banking firm. Mr. Weatherly received a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Mississippi in 1967. Mr. Weatherly has previously been associated with Arthur Andersen LLP, and served as a Senior Vice President of Brown & Root, Inc. and Weatherford International, Inc.
Vice President, Permian Operations
Michael J. O'Connor joined Callon as its Vice President of Permian Operations in April 2016, joining the Company from Devon Energy where he served for eight years as Engineering Advisor supporting production operations in West Texas and Eastern Wyoming. Prior to Devon, Michael was employed at ConocoPhillips, where in 2008 he retired after 30 years of service, working in various production engineering and management roles supporting production operations in Oklahoma, Gulf of Mexico, and West Texas. Michael graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1979 with a BS in Petroleum Engineering and is an active member in the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
