Callon Petroleum Company Announces New Vice President, Controller

NATCHEZ, Miss.--

Callon Petroleum Company (NYSE: CPE) announced today that Rodger W. Smith has been named Vice President and Treasurer and that Mitzi P. Conn has been named Controller. Both are long-term Callon employees.

Smith had most recently served as Corporate Controller and Treasurer, having been appointed Corporate Treasurer in 1999 and Corporate Controller in 2004. Prior to that time, he had served as Manager, Budget and Analysis. He has been employed by Callon and its predecessors since 1983.

Conn was promoted from Assistant Controller to her new position. Previously, she had served as a Senior Financial Analyst, and Supervisor, Budget and Analysis. She has been employed by the company and its predecessors since 1993.
