11% Senior Subordinated Notes

Natchez, MS (June 23, 2004) -- Callon Petroleum Company (NYSE: CPE / CPE.PrA) announced today it has called for redemption its 11% Senior Subordinated Notes due 2005. This redemption will be funded by a portion of the proceeds from the company’s recent secondary common stock offering, which closed June 22, 2004.

Callon has been engaged in the exploration, development, acquisition and production of oil and gas in the Gulf Coast region since 1950. Callon’s properties and operations are geographically concentrated in the offshore waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
